Fire Bike launch at Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service.
MF&RS have launched a 6 month trial of a fast motorbike response for small fires using 2 Fire Bikes supplied by Depot Rail Limited. The Fire Bikes are BMW R1200RT-P versions fitted with a Firexpress low volume fire fighting system. The bike carries 50 litres of water and is designed for use on small fires in urban areas where the response time can be cut by using a motorbike.
